The most important thing I have learned today that touches me most is about the diffferent plant and animal species that can only be found here in our country. I'm really thankful to God for giving us such wonderful creatures that made the Philippines a unique one.

aIn my own little way, the things that I will do to help save our mother earth are: not throwing any garbages anywhere espacially to the bodies of water; I will not use straws and plastic bags and I will plant different species of flowers and trees.

Start from little things like using the water appropriately, putting the trash in the garbage container, segregating waste materials if it?s bio-degradable or non bio-degradable and start to clean on your own backyard.

The important thing I've learned was to save or conserve water. The story about the people in some parts
Africa,that were taking a bath with the urine of an animal, started it all.

I'll start saving electricity. Unplugging the unused appliances can make a big save in the electricity. This might

The things that humanity sacrifices just to be rich and famous. Things that will cause the very extinction of the plants and animals that surround us. And those simple ways that we simply forgot that will help change the environment.

Things that I will do to save the environment:
I will use a glass in brushing my teeth.
I will unplug those appliances that are not in use
I will turn off the lights when not in use and during the day time

a. After the seminar I gain information about the status of our environment here in the Philippines. I am very disappointed that it came to the point that only a few natural resources and animals now exist in our country. When Mr. Froilan discuss about the animals that can only be found here in our country, I am very sad because I treat animals as my friends. I love them and I take care of my pets well. What will happen to our country if all of our natural resources and animals will disappear? We don?t have to blame only the government but also those people who don?t think for the sake of the environment but think of their big money that they will get when they make something in the environment. The people together with the government must cooperate to preserve and protect our environment because day by day our natural resources are rapidly disappearing because of people?s need and greediness.

a. As a responsible person, I always keep my trash specially candy wrappers in my bag or pocket. I don?t throw it on street because it is not nice to see trashes on the sidewalks, etc. I prefer to look for a trash can, or when there is no trash can I just keep it and when I saw a trash can I throw it there so that I can be a good model to others.
b. Although I am only a student, I am giving instructions to my brother that he has to be responsible in his trash so that we both can maintain clean surroundings.

The topic in your speech that affected me most was about the ten ways to be a hero for Mother Nature. Because of that, I learned that I can help Mother Earth even in the simplest way. I learned that we should not blame or wait for the government to act rather we should start it by our own selves.

In those 10 ways, I am sure that I can do 5 of them. I will not use straw. I will use a glass whenever I brush my teeth. I will say no to plastics. I will unplug all the appliances in our house if it is not in use and I will use my paper back to back. I know that these are just simple so I believe that I can do it.

The Water Shortage, because in other country for example in Africa the guy who takes a bath in a pee of cow , he used the pee of cow for him to be able to take a bath , in this case my conscience in wasting water grew bigger because I thought that it is okay to waste water for some time , I just realized at that moment that water is really an important thing to our lives.

From now on I will conserve water , for example while brushing my teeth I will use a glass while doing it , when taking a bath i will not use a shower ,just a “timba and tabo “ only, and while washing the car of my dad I will not use the hose , and I will try not to use flush when using the comfort rooms , “timba and tabo” only.

The most important thing that I have learned in last week’s NSTP is that we should value our natural environment and the animals. We should not abuse the things that they have given to us. We should be contented on what we have and not ask for more in our environment. We should also learn to conserve these natural resources because someday, if we don’t make good use of it, maybe, these resources would be depleted and can be insufficient in the needs of our race. We should find a way to reduce the usage of our resources so that it can be saved and can be use for our next generation.

After this seminar, I would probably get rid of plastic especially straws because the speaker said that straws are invented by stupid people and only stupid people uses stupid inventions. By this message of the speaker, I am discouraged to use a straw from now on because I will become one of the stupid people that contribute on killing the environment. So, from now on, I swear that I will not use plastic straws anymore because it can damage our environment.

From the seminar held last Saturday, I?ve realized how humanity had greatly affected the earth. Today, we experience harsh calamities, storms, etc that are caused by global warming. We were given such a wonderful place to live which provides our every necessity yet all we do is destroying it. Though it seems hopeless, there are still ways to save our only home from its critical condition if only we would have the discipline and concern.

For me, probably, I would start to do it by myself. Throwing garbages to its perfect places, conserving water, avoiding burning things that are not necessary, help in planting trees and other environmental concerns that I can avoid in contributing in the greening of our community. The scene that touched me the most was when the boy took a bath in the pea of a cow. It's very sad that nowadays people doesn't have enough water to fulfill their daily needs for survival. I've learned through this that we as a youth should understand the essence of what the world is facing now. We should really be aware of what is happening in our environment. A lot of us nowadays was just merely looking at it and do not fully care and understand. I think this is the best example that we should reflect on. Conserving water is a big step to start on with which is not to hard for us to do. So, for the youth out there, let's start making the change in our community! =)

I started to be aware about Global Warming just last May. I was going to take the entrance examination in De La Salle University, a friend told me that in that said entrance examination there are two essays that examinees are supposed to answered. My friend also gave me an idea that Global Warming might be one of the topics in the essay. And so, to prepare myself for the essay, I researched everything I can know regarding Global Warming, I even watched “Signos,” GMA7’s documentary about the sudden change in the our planet’s temperature. I got very curious and worried because of what I’ve learned. I found out that in our country, there is a village where there is no more land; the land was covered with flood, the place was like that for five years. There are many negative effects all over the world that made me worried.
Until Saturday, August 16, Mr. Froilan became the speaker for the day. He spoke of Global Warming, which broaden my knowledge and taught us APC students the many things we can do to help our Mother Earth recover from her long time illness. Now, I am more aware of the inconvenient truth and how I can help clean and change the world for the better.

My Pledge…

I now use a cup or a glass when brushing my teeth this is to save water.
I am not stupid, that is why I stopped using the most stupid invention, the straw.
I now unplug unused appliances.
I am trying my best to convince my parents to use the green when shopping.
I try my best to save electricity by turning the lights when it is not really needed, in addition to that, we only use fluorescent light and not incandescent light, because the latter is said to be a big contributor to global warming.

The most important thing that I have learned that touched me most on the seminar that we had is that our country is very rich in natural resources and were just not appreciating it well and using it properly. And some of us are abusing, that natural resources just like the illegal/legal loggers and the miners. And most of the people do not have self-discipline, were just throwing our garbage anywhere, and we didn’t know that the small piece of garbage that we throw will help to cause a clog on our drainage, that can cause flood. I have learned that I should appreciate it well, use it properly and not to abuse it. I should not also throw my garbage anywhere and I should not also waste my paper or any products from nature.

After the seminar that we had and learned, so many things about our mother Earth and on how I can help to save it. I will not waste my paper; I’ll recycle it, if it can be, I’ll use the back or other side of it as a scratch. I will not throw my garbage anywhere; I will look for a trash can, wherein I can throw my garbage properly, or if I can’t find a trash can I’ll just insert it in my bag or pocket, then when I got home I’ll throw it in our trash can. And I’ll try not to use straw while drinking.

I was interested in the whole speech since caring for nature had always been in my heart. The part of the talk where a number of biological species, which was exclusively found in the Philippines, were introduced caught my attention the most. I never knew that a number of life forms could only be found here in this country. This information enhanced my awareness to my immediate surroundings. Conserving was always on my life and my concern for our Mother Earth was always on top level. To help more our environment what I could do know is just to spread the word to the people and develop allies to aid us in saving our planet. E-campaigns were very effective nowadays, and as an aspiring systems and software engineer I will develop e-campaigns promoting the concern for our Mother.

The most important lesson I learned from the seminar is that, we humans are definitely the one destroying our own home and dragging ourselves to death.Generally speaking, for the sake of our own good and money , we are willing to destroy mother earth, our environment, our source of living, our lives.every year thousand of people through out the globe suffers from diseases, famine, and drought, those are just clear effects of global warming. Many people die due to natural calamities like floods and soil erosion, which are all results of deforestation and other abuse to our environment.

If we will continue this abusive manner of consuming our natural resources, and remain thinking only for our own welfare, our world will eventually turn into a lifeless planet. So from now on, start to think about it , learn to care and save mother earth, save your life.

I'm too young and I'm just a student, saving mother earth is such a difficult responsibility, but I do believe that nobody is responsible for saving our nature but us, and we must start to ourselves.

I think, from now on I will be more disciplined and caring individual. I will start practicing the ten simple guidelines to save our environment. I know that by starting to myself and sharing this knowledge I learned from the seminar to other people, will help in saving Mother Earth.

Hosnetly, the talk last Saturday, about Mother Earth really made a great impact to me.
It made me realize the things not only I can do, but all of us, in order to help conserve our natural resources.
I can really apply the things I learned during that almost three hours of talk like : unplugging appliances, using
glass when brushing my teeth, using paper bags instead of plastic bags and the recycling of papers. I was also disappointed
by the way not only our government react when it comes to saving our planet. They pretend to be oblivious of the current situation.
They keep on denying the truth and pretend that things are perfectly fine. But of course, the blame should be put on our very own shoulders too.
We should think of how many generations will suffer if we neglect whatever was left on us that will be the only thing that we can pass to them.
Money is a necessity. It's not a question,it's a fact. But what on earth is money for if our planet is wasted?

For me, the topic that greatly affected me is about the "Ten Simple Ways of [becoming] a Hero [for the Environment]." Why? That is because some of the ways from that topic are some things that I do not do at home or in other places. One of which is the efficient use of water and electricity. But I do try preventing myself from wasting water or electricity/energy.

a.) I will turn off appliances when not in use.
b.) I will make use of water efficiently. I will not waste water.
c.) I will not use plastic straws when drinking beverages.
d.) I will not use plastic bags AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
e.) I would rather use electric fan than air conditioners to prevent air pollution and at the same time, conserve energy.

These are the things/ways that I am [quite] sure of that I will do in real-life situations.

I realize the real condition of the environment. Althouh I'm aware of the environment's worsening situation, I dont expect this as worst as this, that even the urine of a carabao is used to take a bath. Another thing is the continuous decreased of forest in the Philippines. I also awareof this situation, what is really shocking is that every click of my fingers, a lot of trees are lost, and its very sad to know that our country, an agricultural area, will have no forest in the near future.

I realize how important water is, not only in the Philippines but also abroad. From now on, I will try my best to conserve water in my own means. Also electricity, because its sources came from non-renewable sources. Turn off and unplug appliances not in use. Not only to unplug but I'll try to use them wisely such as having reasonable hours of watching television, turning off of electric fan when its cold and using my cellphone wisely. From now on, I will avoid using straw, not because cockroach es lay eggs on it, but because its the most stupid invention, and I don't want to be stupid. It is made of plastic and using plastic really contribute to environmental hazards.

The most important thing that I learned today that touched me most was about the child who was probably eaten by a vulture and not mind by the photographer. It touch me most because a little kid suffer from that situation that was his not fault but the fault of other people abusing there environment. Do you understand a little kid that was a one step to survive the death. But the photographer did not help the kid because they have law that state that they are not allowed to touch their subjects. But for me its not excuse that was baluktot na paguugali. For me as a human i have conscience so i help that kid even though I broke the rule tigasin ako eh. But the main idea of this was not the Photographer and the kid but it was not abusing our nature because not only we affect what were doing but also those innocent kid and people. So please tama na sobra na itigil na ang maling gawain at gawin ang tama.

And the specific action that i do to help to solve the problem regarding the environment is to stop throwing candy wrappers on the road because in that only one candy wrapper that we throw on road we commit crimes because one people die in just one candy wrapper that we throw.

The thing that touched me the most is the child bathing with the urine of the carabao. He was bathing with the urine because they have a very minimal source of water.It proves that not all countries have enough water supply.It shows me how important is water to us.I learned that we Filipinos are very lucky to have enough water supply. 1. The important thing that I learned last Saturday, August 16, 2008 was how to save our environment not only the environment but also the creatures surround us. Last Saturday I was touched most with the effects of deforestration that may cause drought, floods and landslides. That may affect our lives which may cause our death. So for me avoiding this problem may help myself, my family, and friends and even for the future generation have a better life. For me it was also to know how wonderful our country which have endemic plants and have different species.
2. After last Saturday?s seminar I learned how to save and protect our environment even in a little way. The most important thing that I had learned and touched me a lot is when I saw the picture of a kid which is running for his life into the camp. Where at his back is a vulture which is just waiting the child to die then the vulture will eat the kid. The most important thing is for me if I am the said photographer of that photo; I will not leave the child even if it is prohibited for us to touch our object.

A hero is not by just saying it but also proving it and applying these in your daily life. I will give importance to the things that I have and will use it properly. If I can drink a soda even without a straw I will. After I heard the talk last Saturday; Every time I buy a soda I?m no longer using a straw. I?m throwing my waste in proper place because I know that if I do not throw it properly it will also add the waste in our country.

?ve learned so many things from what I?ve seen, but the most important things that I?ve learned and I wanted to implement is the fact that we should learn to love our own culture and country. Because as we can see, we?ve grown from a different culture that should not be.. What I am saying is that we are not doing and following what our culture is.

We were all imitating what the other people and country is doing and we were all forgetting what we truly are. For example, instead of visiting the different places and resorts we have here in our country, we still tend to spend a lot of money visiting other countries. Other examples are the trees, why do we keep on cutting them and destroying them when we all know that it is our own treasures? Why can?t we just find some alternatives for what we need or just make more of them? Same as the animals, why do we keep on killing them when we can find other solutions to kill starvation? I know it?s hard to minimize and to avoid, but I know we can still do something to bring back everything to normal and to bring back the resources we?ve wasted. Its just we all lack on actions.

What I want to do and I will do is to start to save our resources that we cannot gain anymore if we would take advantage on it. I would encourage my family and friends to start to find some other alternatives that would really bring big help to our environment. I would also encourage them to love our own culture and learn to appreciate what God has given to us. We must also learn to visit and take a good look on what our country have before the others have. We might not see them again if they would be gone. We must all learn to nourish what God has started and learn to cherish what we receive. For they might all be gone, and maybe if that?ll happen, that?s the only time we would learn to love and care what we have when they?re still there.

The realization that few years from now, our forests will possibly be totally destroyed without everyone knowing it. It was heart breaking to discover that only a little or very small percent of our forests were left as of today due to industrialization, illegal logging, deforestation and other related human activities.This matter threatened me so much.It is essential for us to be aware of the things happening to our surroundings especially issues concerning nature. It is the reality that nature is a significant part of our lives. And what's happening today is a fall of nature's anger for all of our unmanly deeds.

As what I have learned during the seminar, I can be a hero in my own little ways. By conserving our resources( water , forest and energy), promoting the use of green bags or otgher reusable bags instead of plastic ( to lessen the waste to be digested on land) and minimizing clutter on our surroundings, surely, sooner or later our environment will be saved from total destruction and will regain its natural beauty.

All things here in earth were given to us by God, although living or non-living. We are truly blessed. We have clean air to breathe, better shelter to live in, clean and safe water to drink and happy and challenging life to enjoy. There are also lots of undiscovered blessings that are still hidden in this place we live in. We exist because God loves and cares for us.But despite these wonderful things given to us, we destroy them little by little without knowing.

When I was touched by a discussion made by an environmentalist, Sir Froilan, I felt worried in the condition of our planet. Moreover, our country holds many amazing records in the Guinness of World Records. I also felt sad because as time goes by, man still destroy it.They only think for themselves and they will do anything just for money. But I've learned some simple ways in which I can help to save our country from massive destructions.

Little actions means great deeds. So, even though I can only do little things, I hope it can also help in saving our planet. I will now do what you have thought us during our NATSER/NSTP class. I will dispose my waste in proper ways. I will also reduce, recycle and reuse things which can as well help us.

One of the most important thing that I've learned that touched me the most is the topic about Global warming. The topic about global warming is an eye opener for all of us students that our world is in danger or we are in danger rather. If we didn't do anything about it or if we didn't do anything to lessen or prevent the so called effects of global warming, then all of us will suffer. If we didn't start today caring for our environment then our problem about global warming will be worse. Let's not wait fr it to become worst, let's act now, let's start treasuring our environment. I think if everybody will help in alleviating the problem about global warming, even just in our own little ways, it will all add up in solving the problem and will make a big difference.
Another thing that touched me is the picture of the little boy crawling for help while behind him is a vulture waiting for its food. The picture is so touching because today in our society many our wasting their food not knowing that there are others who are unlucky not to have what they have.

I know that I can't help that much in solving the problem, I'm not an inventor who can invent new gadgets nor a scientist who can discover new ways to solve problems regarding our environment, I'm just a student but In my own little way I can still help save our environment. even simple things like not wasting our resources like water and helping in minimizing waste by segregating garbages and lessening the use of plastic bags, saving energy by unplugging appliances when not in use, recycling things that can be reused, I think it would help especially if i tell it to others so others can do the same. These simple things, if added, will make big things and create big difference.

Frankly speaking, when I first hear of the global warming, it's the most alarming and the most scared reality of the present and of the future. I was really frightened by the fact that after some years, the hole of the ozone layer would become larger and it would cause a great harm on our part. I couldn't imagine how all of us, being, would survive if the glaciers of the north and south fall would melt and all the water would fall from the poles up to the equator. Would I still survive? Would we still survive? Would our mother earth still survive? Would there still be plants and animals? What will happen if our land are already filled with water? I couldn't imagine how life would be when this phenomenon happens... And I couldn't imagine how would I accept the fact that the reason why that phenomenon would happen is because of our being naughty and lazy to our mother nature.

But that's still not the most touching part of the discussion... What touched me more is when a poor child crawled on the ground to get near to the refugee camp so that he could ask for help, yet, behind him is a vulture, which is greedily waiting for the child. The poor child is very near to the refugee camp, but ironically, the vulture is also near to the child. On the other hand, a photographer had witnessed this scenario, yet he didn't help the child. He just grabbed that opportunity to take picture of that scenario. As a result, he got an award for that photo he had taken, yet after months, he had a suicide because he didn't manage to overcome his conscience. It's a sad fact of the reality that people are becoming selfish and try to ignore those who are in need, only because they are hungry for the success and fame, as well as the reward/award they could get. I couldn't imagine how these people managed to overcome their conscience and let themselves witnessed a dying people without giving any single effort to lend a helping hand. What a tragedy, but I guess this is the reality!

Now that I'm aware of the possible effects of the things that we do that might destroy the nature, I'll do my very best to avoid them. First in the list is the conservation of water. As we all know, water is one of our basic necessities aside from air, food, etc. Water, though comprise the 75% of our planet Earth, still would not be enough to supply our need for it. Almost 99% of the water is a salt water and only less than 0.1% of it can be drink and used by people. Starting from today, I would jsut use a glass when brushing my teeth and I would not anymore keep the faucet open while I'm brushing so that water wouldn't be wasted. Also, I would not use the shower too often and I would not anymore let the shower open when I'm soaping and I'll just use the pail to conserve water.
I would also do my best not to throw a single piece of garbage anywhere, but I would throw it in a right place - trashcan. I would also lessen the usage of things that emit CFCs because they would cause global warming and make a hole on the ozone layer.

There are so many of us humans, yet, it seems that the planet is not enough for every one of us. The planet contains limited resources may it be renewable or non-renewable and in some parts of the Earth, resources are scarce. Many people today in India suffer famine and extreme poverty and many civil wars occur there because of the high inflation rate of goods in that area. Are these wars necessary to fight poverty and to maintain their lives? Is it a good thing to fight with each other for food?

Many of us today are lucky because we do not experience this extremely hostile environment. Some are happy because they can buy not only their needs but also their wants. Yet, others complain because they do not experience the same kind of life as those of the rich and wealthy people. High prices of food, water, electricity, etc. all prices today are skyrocketing that majority of us can hardly catch up. Who to blame? How to solve? What to end? Many questions should be answered right away or it’ll be too late for all of us to save our lives, as well as the planet.

I really pity those people living in Africa. They are so poor and there are only limited resources around them. I really shocked when I saw those pictures in the presentation. Imagine the boy bathing using an animal pee, and the little child that was about to be eaten by the vulture while he is struggling for his life. How sad it turned out for them. Is anyone doing something about this? Why does this happen to them? It seems that they suffer the most among us humans yet majority of us do not care to help our own brothers and sisters. I hope this sad scenario will not continue until the future.

It’s a good thing to realize that everybody is to blame for the destruction of our own planet. Why id it do? Do you think driving your car out, burning dried leaves, using Styrofoam, manufacturing products by machine and the disposal , usually improper, of wastes does not stack-up their effects to harm our environment? Maybe some are not but majority of them are harmful.

If that’s the case, then how did that became a good thing? If everyone did it, then everyone is responsible. Therefore, everyone SHOULD help or cooperate in cleaning our environment and prevent the consequences of its further destruction.

It is very obvious that the air that we breathe is polluted, unclean and the forests are devastated. During the seminar about saving the environment, while I was listening to the speaker, I thought about what have I done to the environment. Although I do not destroy our mother earth literally, but in my own ways, I am contributing to the destruction of the earth. The most important thing that I have learned is about the 10 things that we can do to help saving the earth. We should apply those things in our own lives. We need to help saving the world because we are the one who destroyed it. It is impossible to put it back to what it was before. I know that it is very hard and it will take years to improve the appearance of the environment, but we can to something to make a difference.

I can help in the campaign for saving the environment in many ways. I will conserve water/electricity. This will not only help the environment but also help our monthly bills lessen. I will not have my goods wrapped with plastic if it is handy. I will also influence my family and friends about htis matter. The more people that will do this things, the more we possibilities that we will succeed in saving the environment.

I learned a lot of things during the seminar. The topic was really interesting. But the most important thing I've learned is knowing that there are a lot of beautiful creations here in the Philippines that I'm not aware of. I was really happy and proud to know that these fine things exists in our country. Of course, one must know how to take care of these creations so they will live longer and happily, and it will continue to make our country richer and beautiful.

I will definitely do what is discussed during the seminar. Like, not using straw, using a cup when brushing my teeth, plugging off the wires when not in use, to walk and take the stairs, and other things. Starting with myself and simple will already make a big difference to save the world. Honestly, even before, I'm already doing some of the ways to help save our environment. You can say that I'm environmental friendly. And now, I'm also doing the other ways step by step to be a hero in our world.

August 16, 2008, our NSTP class had a wonderful lesson given to us. It is all about our Mother earth, our rich nature. I liked so much the topic and I had fun in that lesson because I learned so many new things about our resources. Really, when talking about this topic, I am interested to know because I felt that we should take care about more our environment and I felt so much concerned about this.
For me, the most thing I learned that touches me most was that taking god care of our environment so that our world will be rich. Also I learned about the mans’ creation, that are some not helpful to us because it just made a great danger to everyone of us. For example in our country, flash floods, landslide that made a great bad in us. We know that floods, landslides were made by nature but it just made a great disaster to us because we destroy our own nature! One of the example why one bad climate was be much destructive to us. In the mountains, the loggers cut out too much trees that when it rains theres ‘nothing to support running water, as a result it brought landslide because no more enough trees to support. And from that situation too many people had died and I felt bad to what happen. If we just reserve trees in the mountain range less people suffer from any natural disaster because nature gives life to us so we should take care of this and gave importance. Also one thing, the garbage in everywhere that mostly stock in the drainage that result great flood in everywhere in the cities or in the provinces. If we our responsible in throwing our trash theres no flood happen or in the water, they will not be polluted and the marine life will be rich and live safely so we should be very responsible in this topic. One of the great example of this was the Payatas tragedy, the dumpsite looked like a garbage slide and many people were died because of too much garbage in there.
So, as for now, we should learn to appreciate our resources. Be responsible in caring our environment, everything on it, the animal, the rich land we had. Our governments also have big part of making our nature rich. They should plan wisely because nature had big role in every mans life.

As a student, for now I can do small things to make to save the world today. One of the things I should do is to throw my trash in a garbage can and not in everywhere because it will be added to millions trash in everywhere and learn to separate trash. Also giving importance in energy saving to conserve energy, for example if I am not yet in low battery, don’t charged immediately. When I am watching television, if it is not important turn off the T.V and unplug it. Then, one thing is that don’t waste water especially in taking a bath, don’t be take too long in taking bath. For now, that some ways I can do to serve the world and save our nature. If I have enough strengths and much older enough, I can do more than I mentioned. Also I love animals so I want them to recognize and save them. All living things should be preserve and take care of.

Actually, the first time I saw the video of the global warming by Algor, I was already touched. I wasn?t aware of the appalling changes happening on mother earth. Or I was aware, but I just don?t care. In the discussion, I was touched when the speaker enlightened us und opened our hearts by telling us that mother earth is not only sick, but she is calling us to do something that could stop the destruction of the world we all live in.

After today, for sure I will eat on a fastfood chain. In order to help the environment and in order to contribute something good, I will not use straw. Also when I go home and brush my teeth, I will still do the using of glass to conserve water. In those simple ways, I will be sure that I can help our mother earth.

What's the most important thing you've learned that touched you the most? The most important thing I learned during the talk that touched me the most is the information about the wildlife here in the Philippines. I was touched because I was really fond of learning about animals when I was a kid even (until now, although it's less) and yet I wasn't able to perfect the "fact or real". I used to know
lots of stuff about rare animals but now, I don't. When you tackled about the "fact or real" stuff, I was ashamed of myself that I didn't know about these anymore. Although, I'm still happy that there are lots of endemic species until now. :) So, there. :D

I'll try to do the 10 little things to help mother Earth. If possible, I'll try to convince my parents to buy a new non-CFC refrigerator to replace the 38 year-old one here. I'll also check if my phone is fully charged already so I could pull the plug. I could also unplug everything before going to sleep. So, yeah, like the 10 little things. :D

I couldn't imagine how life would be when this phenomenon happens

Frankly speaking, when I first hear of the global warming, it's the most alarming and the most scared reality of the present and of the future. I was really frightened by the fact that after some years, the hole of the ozone layer would become larger and it would cause a great harm on our part. I couldn't imagine how all of us, being, would survive if the glaciers of the north and south fall would melt and all the water would fall from the poles up to the equator. Would I still survive? Would we still survive? Would our mother earth still survive? Would there still be plants and animals? What will happen if our land are already filled with water? I couldn't imagine how life would be when this phenomenon happens... And I couldn't imagine how would I accept the fact that the reason why that phenomenon would happen is because of our being naughty and lazy to our mother nature.

But that's still not the most touching part of the discussion... What touched me more is when a poor child crawled on the ground to get near to the refugee camp so that he could ask for help, yet, behind him is a vulture, which is greedily waiting for the child. The poor child is very near to the refugee camp, but ironically, the vulture is also near to the child. On the other hand, a photographer had witnessed this scenario, yet he didn't help the child. He just grabbed that opportunity to take picture of that scenario. As a result, he got an award for that photo he had taken, yet after months, he had a suicide because he didn't manage to overcome his conscience. It's a sad fact of the reality that people are becoming selfish and try to ignore those who are in need, only because they are hungry for the success and fame, as well as the reward/award they could get. I couldn't imagine how these people managed to overcome their conscience and let themselves witnessed a dying people without giving any single effort to lend a helping hand. What a tragedy, but I guess this is the reality!

Now that I'm aware of the possible effects of the things that we do that might destroy the nature, I'll do my very best to avoid them. First in the list is the conservation of water. As we all know, water is one of our basic necessities aside from air, food, etc. Water, though comprise the 75% of our planet Earth, still would not be enough to supply our need for it. Almost 99% of the water is a salt water and only less than 0.1% of it can be drink and used by people. Starting from today, I would just use a glass when brushing my teeth and I would not anymore keep the faucet open while I'm brushing so that water wouldn't be wasted. Also, I would not use the shower too often and I would not anymore let the shower open when I'm soaping and I'll just use the pail to conserve water.
I would also do my best not to throw a single piece of garbage anywhere, but I would throw it in a right place - trashcan. I would also lessen the usage of things that emit CFCs because they would cause global warming and make a hole on the ozone layer.
From now on, I promise to be aware of my surroundings and to take care of our mother nature. Let's preserve whatever environment today so that we could still show how beautiful the world is to the next generation!

The most important thing that I’ve learned and touched me a lot is that Philippines is really a rich country. More especially in what we call “likas na yaman” just like rare species (plant species and animal species). We must be proud of it as Filipinos!

I really felt so sad when I saw the picture of the kid dying in thirst and a bird who eats dead meat,is waiting for the kid to die.I realized that I am lucky enough that i didn`t suffer the same thing and I have water to drink and food to eat.I also realize that we should be thankful because our country is blessed with natural resources and we should learn to conserve/preserve/take care of these resources even our own little way.

Mother earth is sicked and I realized that in my own little way I can may her better by conserving usage of water,saying no to plastic when shopping, by recycling papers,not using straw and by unplugging electrical appliances when not in use.

Bible stated that God created the world in seven days that include the plants, animals, planets, stars, cloud, sun, moon, meteors and air. In contrast, there were scientific reasons why we have this and that. But, have you ever thought of if this paradise was really made or created by biblical means or scientific means?

Green! Green! Green! It is what our mother needs. Today, we are surrounded by large amount of pollution; not only us but also our mother earth which is the most affected. If we didn’t stop in polluting our air we may die as soon as possible. Philippines have lots of plants and animals that are still undiscovered by us. We are not blind it is just that we are incapable of discovering those worlds they have. By letting those undiscovered plants and animals stay in their places will help our environment to maintain its beauty.

Well, regarding this matter I may say that the most important thing that I have learned was that if we want to live longer we must protect our mother earth. People are deteriorating our environment, so if we didn’t stop deteriorating our resources will scarce wherein we are affected. The tornados, storms, floods, mudslides, landslides and other disasters are just the consequences of deteriorating the environment.

To help save the environment what will I do is to preach everyone what they should know about saving our environment from our wrong doings. Some of us are not saving our environment or that they don’t care because they are lack in knowledge. By preaching, not only me will help the environment but also those people that listened to me. Aside from preaching I will use recycled materials rather than made of woods, plastics, etc. to less the production of forest materials to maintain our green environment.

I can say that my knowledge is enhanced by the talk last Saturday. I was aware of some of the activities that causes the nature's fall. I do believe that what the speaker said is true. It is true that we, humans, are the main reasons of the destruction of our environment.

The thing that touched me most is when our speaker told us that our mother, MOTHER NATURE, is calling us. It is true that most of the time, I ignore her. Maybe because I am not aware of the problems in the environment.

From now on, I will try my best to avoid making damages to our environment. I can do simple things. Just like, avoid throwing trash on the road. Or even, avoid using insecticides. Minimize the energy consumption. Plant trees. Or even take care of animals. These are the things I that I will be trying to do. It might be hard but it is worthy of my sacrifices. It is for the future generation that will benefit from these simple things.

The story about the crawling child and the vulture was the one that touched me most. I do not know what came to the photographer's mind that he did not help the child. He was the only witness of that scene yet he never had a nerve to do something about it. the child was very near to the refugee camp and he was dying with thirst and hunger. have he(the photographer) no heart to see that? does he felt no pity for the child at all? the worst of all, he gave reasons that could never be considered as reasons. those were just alibis to cover up his wrong deed. he should have considered other options. what if there would be no other person to pass there? what if the people at the refugee camp did not see the child? photographers should not intervene with their subjects? what if the child died? if he had helped the child, he would save a life- and a life is far more important than a picture. maybe that was the reason why he committed suicide, conscience. i would have helped the child if I were there. it was a very sad story and it happened in the real life. it was so sad that you cannot right the wrong things that you have done. "nasa huli talaga ang pagsisisi."

After learning that I have been one of the causes of having an unhealthy environment, I promise that from now on I will do my best to help save the environment by doing the following: Never to use a straw again; when shopping, I will bring a paper bag or buy environment friendly bags; never to forget that I should use a glass of water when brushing my teeth; never to leave any appliances plugged when not in use; segregate garbage; and I will tell my friends about what i have learned on the seminar.

The most important thing I learned that touched me the most is that we must take good care of our environment because without it we cannot live by ourselves. I also learned that what we do to our environment goes back to us, for example, if we cut trees and throw our garbage anywhere, it can cause flood when it rains that may placed us in danger. I'm really touched on the picture of an animal and a child crawling to go to an evacuation place because it only shows that even if we're only young, we can now feel or experience the effects of an environmental disaster.

As part of this young generation, I should do something to save the environment because all of us are responsible for that. I will help to save the environment by disposing my garbage properly, conserving our water, turning off our appliances when not in use, not burning anything especially tires and plastics, helping to educate the young ones about our environment, and just by walking or biking when my destination is near our house to reduce air pollution.

The most important thing that I learned from that seminar that really touched me is that our country has a very rich biodiversity and that I also found out that we have some extraordinary species that live here in the Philippines such as that kind of frog which has the size of a 10 centavo coin, or that kind of bat which has a wing span of over 2 meters, or the tarsier and many more. Our country also holds some records in regards to the different species that we have here. Those things touched me because it made me become proud that our country has this kind of biodiversity. I'm also surprised that we have those kinds of species that have weird attributes. I hope that nothing bad will happen in our biodiversity so that our country will still possess the same biodiversity in the future.

After that seminar, the different actions that I will do in order to help save the environment are the following:
1. Persuade my younger siblings to stop using straws for drinking as I learned from the seminar that plastic straws also contribute to the increasing amount of plastic garbage.
2. Picking up garbage that weren't thrown into the garbage can then throw them into the trash can,
3. Reusing plastic materials instead of throwing them away in order to lessen garbage.
4. Walking short distances instead of riding.

For number 1, it's because my siblings are fond of using straws so it is better to tell them so that they can also help conserve the environment and to prevent them from wasting more straws. I also heard from my sibling that using straws could also become one cause of tonsilitis because the liquid flowing from the straw will go directly to the tonsils instead of passing through the tongue which means temperature is not regulated thus, causes tonsilitis. Number 2 is obviously, common sense and then number 3 is also a useful action and can be common such as reusing used plastic bags as garbage bags or using plastic bottles to contain drinks or substances. Number 4 is my favorite since exercise is also involved and when the place you are visiting is just near, this is an ideal action. (unless you are really in a hurry though.) Plus, I have already tried number 4 during my high school years (since my school is just a few meters away) so number 4 is my favorite action and is also useful when there are traffic jams or full rides but is not ideal when during the night. (unless you are walking in a really safe area.)

For me, I would say that everything about the seminar touched me so much.
I've learned things that I never thought to be possible.
I've known that there are such endemic creatures that i thought were not true.
but the best thing that i realized during the seminar was how lucky i am for having this life. I feel so lucky because there are people who can't even afford to eat twice a day. I can still remember the picture taken by Kevin Carter, even though it's not in the Philippines, it might really happen here if we just continue being bad to our own mother.

• Well for me, it’s about the thing that really clears something to me about our country. Aside from the smog-infested and traffic-plagued city our country is such a beautiful place. We travel abroad to have a nice vacation knowing that place doesn’t exist in our country but then we don’t know that there’s so many beautiful and amazing places you and I have yet to discover in our country. The pictures and stories about the people in Africa gave me a pinch in my heart. The fact that thay have nothing to eat and no water to drink, let me realized how blessed I am for what I have today. The Philippines is the only country in Southeast Asia with the thinnest forest cover. Only 20% of the country’s original forests cover remains. It has lost its original forest cover since the 16th century.

Forest is important. Without it, animals that are living and depending in it will be lost. Floods and land slides could kill people who are living near the mountains.

It would take decades to recover a very little portion of a forest but 2 weeks is enough to cut a big portion of forest.

As a citizen of this country and being under the domain of this archipelago, I would join campaigns for the environment focused on trees. Saving trees will save millions of lives. I will do the 10 little things to help save the world. I like to help saving our mother earth from dying.

For me, the most important thing that I have learned today is how I can help to save Mother Earth. Knowing that our environment is sick because of our mistakes, I learned how to help in minimizing the damage on our environment. From now on, I will lessen the use of plastics especially straws. Another thing is that I will try to lessen the use of plastic bags. I will also give importance for water. I will conserve it and use every single drop properly. I will also give importance for trees because every tree has a great value for us human. It is one of the most special gifts of God for us humans.

I've learned that, there's lot of changes happening in our environment, and those changes were not for better. As years goes by, trees and other natural resources also gone time by time. And what increased most is the mix waste from a lot of people. I also learned that using any kind of plastics is not advisable because this just add to the increasing problem in our environment.

The most important thing thing/s i have learned during the seminar, is the possible effects of pollution to the planet. i didn't know that from a very small object like straw, can ruin our resources 'cause it's made from plastic. I also learned that only a very few percent of trees and forests in our country is alive. Most of the land were converted to buildings, homes, etc. that lessens the number of trees. For me, these are the things that touched me the most 'cause by knowing this stuff, i have imagined what kind of place the world could be if we don't care for our environment. i would be very horrible and I feel that there will come a time that what i've seen from the movies about natural calamity, will be very possible to happen in the future.

The very small things i can and i will do starting now is to conserve water, minimize the use of plastic bags, but what's hard is how I/We can make the people do these stuff. 'Cause informing the people about this has been done a very long time ago, from commercials etc. So the very best thing to do is to start from ourselves. Join groups that help our environment and I guess, let God do the rest that we deserve to have.

I have learned that all of us can do something for our Mother Earth.We can help to make clean and green again.Maybe were to young, but it's not an hindrance for us to help our nature.

I will use glass when brushing. I wont use straw when drinking. I wont use plastic when shopping. I will walk or use stairs.I will turn off light when not in use. I will unplugged appliance when not in use.I will share to my friends.

Most of the things I that I have learned, discovered, and realized during the talk regarding our environment were not exactly filled with smiles and cherry-topped ice cream, they were completely the opposite. I mean, deforestation taking its toll here in the Philippines, knowing that our source of potable water is decreasing, other people are suffering so badly (and I mean really, really bad) in other countries, and especially the fact that by even knowing this (the many, many bad things we do to our world), I assume that maybe 90% of the masses don’t do anything. To sum it all up, all of the bad news and some (since there were only few presented) of the good news were all significant and everything touched me, honestly, but maybe the one part left an imprint on me, the photos of the suffering people.

Why, you may ask, I think that all information is significant. Well, air pollution, water pollution, the problem with plastic, the extinction of the wildlife, and the dying people in Africa are all equally significant. Each of these and other problems regarding the environment should be addressed equally, as stated in the aforementioned. Usually, these problems just don’t go away easily by approaching them head-on, in other words, you have to get to the source of the problem, which is actually us human beings. So, yes, we should start restoring our land and not wait for nature to take its course (which is bad, because it could lead to destruction if we don’t do anything).

In addition to the significant things that I have learned and touched me the most, which is, as a matter of fact, all of the presented information; is concerning the government. Sure, we may think that they actually do something about this with all the money they have in office (that they eventually put in their pockets), but they don’t usually do something. If they did, the world could have been better place than this (not saying the world right now is the worst place to be in) right now. After all, the government serves us, the people, and they should do something for us and not just for our sakes but for their sakes as well. It’s never easy, we all know that, but their authority gives them a slight advantage in approaching these problems compared to us average, normal people who go through their simple lives every day.

They sometimes say that one man can change everything. But to be honest, I think that’s not always true. But if each one of us gradually do something good to this land we are currently inhabiting, slowly but surely, we can change it. Maybe not a great deal of change, but we change a part of it for the betterment of everyone else.

I, for one, may not be a complete righteous person, but somehow, in one way or another, have done something good for the environment. Recalling the simple things an individual can do to the environment during the talk, I think I have done these things: using a cup/glass while brushing my teeth, unplugging cellular phone charger and some appliances, rarely using a straw, just to name a few. But of course, sometimes I make mistakes but if one can turn this routine (the simple things we can do to the environment) to more of a daily habit, we can be heroes of the environment.

The topic that touches me the most is the topic about where I realize that the Philippines is such a rich country in terms of its natural resources and the diffrent species of plants, animals and insects that could only be found here on our small distant country. We where given up question and analyze it according to its description whether it is true or fictitious. A frog as small as a coin, a turtle without a shell and a marine animal as big as a bus that could only be found here only in the Philippines are some of the examples given to us.

I would do at least 5 things that could help the environment. I will say no to plastic, straw; a stupid invention, right, I will unplug appliciances when not in use, Use stairs when just going 1-3 floors up or down, I will use a cup when brushing my teeth and recycle.

The most important topic that touch me the most is about the child in Sudan Africa and the photographer Kevin Carter who take photos to a child who is dying for hunger,seeing the pitiful child in that situation and yet Kevin did not do anything to help the child believing for that stupid thoughts as a photographer. For me Kevin deserves to die.

If I were Kevin Carter if i situated in that scenery no seconds thoughts I will definitely help the child not because I'm pity him but because it was the right decision to do.

About saving the Our Mother Earth i will do the Ten simple things as one o the concern for saving the mother earth, like not using the straw, use glass for brushing my teeth, and turn off the appliances when not in use, trow garbage properly, etc.

The lesson that touched me the most is the fact that Earth is losing its resources and there will come a time that the children of my children will no longer experience what I have today. The bountiful natural resources that I enjoy will soon be gone without the proper use of people. Even today, in some parts of the world, people are now suffering because of lack of resources while I am enjoying it and sometimes wasting it.

I realized that I should help in saving Earth even in the smallest possible way I was also moved by the picture showed to us where there was a child who came from a place that suffered the longest drought crawling in the grounds and a vulture was waiting for the death of the child because the vulture knew that in any minute the child would possibly die. I never thought that this kind of incident would happen. I really pitied the child upon knowing that the photographer didn’t do anything to help the child. I felt a great sorrow with the child’s situation. Only if people didn’t abuse our resources, only if people used it properly and if only people thought of the future, this won’t happen. I also thought about God. God gave us these blessings for us to take good care and prosper, but what are we doing? We keep on wasting and abusing mother Earth. Maybe this is our punishment but it is not too late, we still can do a lot.

Of course, as I have learned, I will practice the 10 things which Kuya Froilan taught us. Though these are just small things, I know it would help a lot if all of us will practice it. I would do my very best in preserving nature. I will help in saving Earth. I promise not to waste anything. I will always keep in mind that in every single resource I waste, a lot of lives will be affected in our time and even in the future; every resource that I save, a lot of people will benefit and will add in the heritage of the future.

The most important thing that Ive learned during the seminar is that our mother nature is seeking for our help and if we do nothing she might just give up, 50 more years and we'll all be totally erased in this big galaxy. Also I've learned that God has given us everything that we need its just that we dont value them. Our nature has its natural riches but people just keep on destroying them, people have been cruel to nature because of the greedyness to money and I pitty those people who are easily decieved by money. They became stupid and selfish. they dont know how to value the gifts of God to us humans and the worst part of it is that, because of their greedyness many people are affected and suffering.

I do believe that knowledge is power so i think the best way to help mother earth is to spread my knowledge about the pathetic condition of our planet earth. I would inform people of the the things that we might lose if we do nothing for their awareness would be a big help. Some people might ignore it but atleast some of the people would help save our planet. in addition to that I could do little things that would surely help like unpluging un used appliances and turning off those that are not necessary. I will try not to use straws and promote the use of greenbag.

Para sa akin po, ang pinaka nakapagkuha ng aking buong atensyon at ng emosyon ay yung sa litrato ng isang itim na ibon at ng isang batang malapit ng mamatay. Sabi rito, hinihintay na lang nung ibon na mamatay yung bata nang sa gayon ay makain na nito ang kanyang laman. Nung una kong madinig yun, ang unang pumasok sa isip ko ay kinuhanan yun ng isang potograper pagkatapos ay kanya rin itong kinuha at tinulungan. Ngunit, ang masakit na katotohanan dito ay nung malaman kong iniwanan lang ang bata ng potograper. Higit pa rito, sobrang nalungkot ako nung sinabi na “hinihintay na lang na mamatay yung bata para kainin nung itim na ibon”. Hindi ba’t masakit na katotohanan yun? Sa halip na tulungan ay iniwan niya ito sa harap ng piligro. Matapos nito, hindi na alam kung ano na ang sumunod na nangyari sa bata. Sa potograper naman, nagpakamatay siya dahil sa senaryong iyon. E, kung tinulungan na lang niya ang bata at binalewala ang pansarili niyang rason na “bawal hawakan ang kanyang subhekto”, e di sana walang buhay ang nakitil. Sobrang nalungkot po talaga ako sa kwentong iyon. Masakit para sa akin yung kung anuman ang sumunod na nangyari sa bata kasi sa ganung kalagayan ay hindi parin siya tinulungan pero iniisip ko na siguro nama’y kahit papaano ay may tumulong sa batang iyon. Ngunit, kung talaga nga namang ganoon ang kapalaran ng bata, wala tayong magagawa kundi ang ipagdasal sa kung saan man siya naroroon ngayon.

For me, I really learned a lot from the discussion. The speaker was so good because he got my full attention to his topic. Of course, I will apply what I’ve learned from the discussion. First, I will use glass to avoid wasting water. Second, I will unplug all the appliances after I’ve used it. Third, I will not use straw or any plastics to prevent floating plastics in the Manila Bay and so on. I know that there are so many little ways to become a hero in our planet but what matter is that I follow the instructions very truthfully. Actually, some of the instructions is what I am doing everyday that’s why I know that I am one of the heroine who is spreading good in our planet. I know that it’s hard for some people who are doing badly in their surroundings but if they’re going to practice themselves, they too, will get easy to follow all the instructions from the discussion. Hopefully, we achieve one’s goal- to make up our Mother Earth again.

In our lesson about the importance of environment is that, we as the creation of God must took care all of living things. No one knows about future, but for our benefit, it is a good thing that we should help our environment to recuperate in all chaos happened in our country today.

 I’ll Segregate biodegradable to non-biodegradable things
 I’ll Stop burning things to prevent carbon monoxide
 I’ll throw my trash in proper trash can
 I’ll turn off light if not in use

I learned that everyone can be a hero and can save the world. I also learned that we should be concern to our environment. As what I have remembered from the talk..
a. We should avoid using plastics and straw.
b. WE should always unplug the chargers and other devices to save energy. c. We should conserve water.
d. Do not burn things
e. share it to your friends
And a lot more..

The specific action I can use is that before I do these things and share it to other people; I should know first how to apply it to myself, to my day to day experience and have self-discipline. I should also be concern and responsible in all my actions. I should know how to do the right thing, at the right time, at the right place for the right reason.
